Agricultural Biomass Heating Seminar, Wednesday, March 21. 10 am – 5 pm.
The City Center in Saratoga Springs, New York
Register now for this seminar on the technical and commercial opportunities, as well as the challenges, to the wider use of agricultural biomass in heating applications. Speakers will address issues concerning agronomics, densification, combustion, emissions and economics. The emphasis is on generating "local heat" from grasses, agricultural residues and other non-woody biomass crops. This is being offered as a complement to the Northeast Biomass Heating Expo 2012. Natural Building Certificate 5-week Course. Starts Sunday, April 29, 7:00 pm. Concludes Friday, June 1, 5 pm.
A five-week Natural Building Certificate (formerly Natural Building Intensive) that is a course of study providing hands-on exploration of earthen and natural elements and the means by which they can be used to create structures and shelter.  From the design and planning stages through the finishing touches, students will gain experience working with straw, wood, clay, sand, stone, water, and lime as they design, erect, shape, sculpt, and detail the walls, roofs, and floors that enclose healthy, comfortable, and low-impact living spaces.   The program includes an Introduction to Natural Building, as well as segments on Insulative Natural Wall Systems, Thermally Massive Natural Wall Systems, Natural Plasters, Advanced Plasters & Finishes, and Earthen Floors.  For more information, contact Shannon Donovan, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
